Problem
The problem for this project was to make a sculpture that could demonstrate how we think the Egyptians could raise the obelisk. We could use any material in this project for example cardboard, sand, popsicle sticks, bricks, anything but just prove how the Egyptians brought the obelisk and rose it up to its place. We also needed to do research on how the Egyptians moved the obelisk into the place they wanted it to be displayed on, and also research about what the Egyptians built to rise the obelisk.
Solution
How we solved the problem for this project was first research some theories on how the Egyptians rose the obelisk, when we found a actual solution on how they rose the obelisk we started to gather materials from my house to try and build the mini structure they used. We made a medium base to place the bottom of the obelisk that we took from the previous project of us building an obelisk. After We glued the base of the obelisk with the medium floor We started to make a mini floor that will be leaning on the base where the obelisk would be placed.
Then We glued the walls on the side of the base and after it dries We then add a stick in the middle of the walls but on the top of the walls. We then go and cut three strings to add on our obelisk. Then we tie one string on the top of the obelisk then we start to pull the string so the top of the obelisk could rise and we could add the second string on the middle of the obelisk. After we added the second string we pulled both of the strings at the same time to then add the third string on the bottom of the obelisk. When we add all three strings We then start to see if pulling the two top strings down that are hanging from the little stick that is connected to the two walls will put the obelisk up then the bottom string would be pulled to the side making the bottom of the obelisk moved to the right position of the base.

This project was really hard to do because it was a team project. My partner for this project was Melanie. She made most of the project and I provided the materials. It was also very hard to find time. Because we lived far from each other. So I had to give her the materials at school.
